This is an incredibly easy schnapps to make. And best of all, you do not have to wait that long before you can harvest the crops of your very minimal amount of work.
You could go for a cicely schnapps alone, but I decided to add a bit of stawberries (approx. 100g grams and a single spoonful honey. I think when you sweeten the schnapps, it isn’t a schnapps but a liqueur. But hey, who counts?
Cicely is quite easy to find, at least in Denmark it grows about everywhere. You can easily distinguish it from its relatives by rubbing the leaves. This should leave a quite significant scent of anise. Season for cicely is in spring and summer. You can eat/use both stems, leaf flowers and seeds. It can be mistaken for Hemlock WHICH IS POISONOUS. So be a little aware when picking cicely.
- 100g Cicely leafs and stems
- 100g strawberries
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 bottle of vodka (0,7L)
- Add all ingredients to a pickling jar. Let it rest for a week, taste. If it's fine, strain and put into clean bottles. If the taste of anise is to overpowering, dilute with a bit of vodka. If to weak, let it rest a bit more.
- The strawberries can be eaten with icecream, but on your own account. They hit pretty hard.
